The Diagnosis

I wanted to start a blog updating my family and friends on my daughter Gracie, and asking everyone to please lift her up in prayer as we are going through this. Some of you may not even know, but she was diagnosed with having a Bronchogenic Cyst on her lung. I had actually taken her to the ER on October 28th, 2010 for back pain. The next day, October 29th, I got a call from her doctor saying she wanted to talk to me about Gracie's ER visit from the day before. Her doctor left a message, so I called her, and left her a message to please call me because I had no idea what was going on. Thank goodness she called me back the next day on October 30th, and she said they found what she and the radiologist thinks is a Bronchogenic Cyst. I could quit thinking of all the worst things that was going through my head, but then had to deal with the new diagnosis. Honestly, I have not read up on this condition at all. I have relied on my husband and mother to tell me about it, because I know me, and I know that I will read into every thing too much. She had a CAT Scan done in November at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. They confirmed that it was a Bronchogenic Cyst, and they also found that she is missing a vein in the other lung. She has an appointment to see the Pediatric Pulmonologist at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital next month in January. It will be the first time we will actually sit down with an actual doctor to talk about Gracie's condition. I ask for everyone to please pray for the best outcome for Gracie, and for us all to have strength.

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,a who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
